Specimen Requirements

Specimen Type:  Whole blood

Collection Container/Tube:  Green top (sodium or lithium heparin) + Dark green (sodium heparin)

Specimen Volume:  Tube must be full.

Collection Instructions:

1. Tube must be full.

2. If unable to analyze immediately, place on wet ice immediately after draw and forward promptly.

3. Specimen cannot be frozen.

4. Maximum storage time is 4 hours on wet ice.
