Important Note

This test is not affected by dietary peroxidase.  There are no dietary restrictions. 

Bleeding from other conditions may affect test results, such as hemorrhoids, menstrual bleeding, urinary bleeding or constipation bleeding.  Patients with these conditions are not appropriate test subjects while such bleeding is active.

Specimen Requirements

Specimen Type: Unpreserved stool

Collection Container/Tube: Hemosure Collection Tube

Collection Instructions:

1. Collection instructions are included in the kit.

2. Randomly insert applicator stick into stool sample 5-6 times.

3. Replace applicator stick into the buffer tube.  Tighten cap.

4. Sample should be collected without scooping, clumping or overfilling the buffer tube.

Specimen Transport Temperature

Ambient.  Buffered specimen stable for 14 days at room temperature for mailing.
