Specimen Requirements

Specimen Type: Serum
Collection Container/Tube:
Preferred: Gold (gel separator) or Red (plain)
Acceptable: Plasma, Green top (lithium heparin)

Specimen Volume: 2.0 mL

Specimen Minimum Volume: 0.2 mL

Collection Instructions:

1. Peak: collect 60 minutes after completion of a 60-minute infusion.

2. Trough: collect 30 minutes before next dose.

3. Date and time of last dose is required.

4. Indicate whether peak or trough.

5. Indicate whether serum or plasma.

6. Avoid interchanging serum and plasma samples.

Hemolysis 4+

Lipemic 4+
